Recording Remote

A simple control panel for all connected recording devices — start and stop recordings, check connection status, and manage the Auto-Start setting. Designed to be used from any device on the network: a phone, tablet, or secondary computer works just as well as the main operator machine.

Two status chips at the top give an instant overview:

  • Recording chip — how many devices are currently recording out of how many were asked to record (e.g. “2 of 2 recording”). Blue when all are recording, warning-colored when only some are, red when none responded.
  • Connected chip — how many devices are currently connected out of how many are enabled. Green when all connected, warning when partial, red when none.

Start All — sends a record command to all enabled devices. Dims if all are already recording.

Stop All — sends a stop command to all devices. Dims if none are recording.

A notice below the main buttons shows the current Auto-Start state with a quick toggle:

  • Auto-Start is enabled — recording starts automatically when timecode runs. A “Disable” button lets you turn it off without going to admin settings.
  • Auto-Start is DISABLED — a “Enable” button is shown.

An expandable Recording Devices section lists each configured device with: name and enabled state, type, connection status (endpoint and connected/not), recording indicator, and any error messages.

This section is read-only — device configuration is managed in Admin → Recording.

  • Fullscreen — toggle fullscreen mode (useful on a tablet)
  • Prevent Device Sleep — keep the screen awake (uses Wake Lock API; only shown when supported)
  • Edit Recordings — jump to the recordings edit list
  • Recording Settings — jump to Admin → Recording
  • Reload App — force a full reload
